Supplier Sourcing Specialist - Mountain View  

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

The role: Supplier Sourcing Specialist

At Google we spend billions of dollars with suppliers every year. We buy hardware, software, professional services, build and manage facilities around the world, use various technology services, marketing services and provide benefits for our staff. Our Supplier Sourcing team ensures we have strong and creative relationships with internal stakeholders and the right suppliers, so that Google can get the best value and continue to invest in its great new products and customer relationship.

Responsibilities:

• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, to fully understand their needs.
• Collaborate with cross functional & global teams to conduct multi-step “Request For Proposal” sourcing processes to ensure Google selects the right supplier and generates the most value, while creating robust documentation.
• Promote and execute Reverse Auctions as the preferred methodology for determining market pricing.
• Provide supply market analysis, benchmarking, and information on market trends & emerging technologies, to help stakeholders manager their business.
• Collaborate with other Supplier Sourcing Team members across the world to ensure we learn from each others experiences and provide a consistent service to stakeholders globally.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree. (In lieu of degree, 5 years of relevant experience.)
• 4 years relevant work experience, including experience in procurement/supplier management at a global public company.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA.
• Demonstrated skills in rigorous, fact-based analyses that drive creative problem solving, proposal preparation, and negotiation.
• Strong leadership qualities including effective interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Persuasive written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong multi-tasking and organizational capabilities, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, motivated "can-do" attitude, and results-oriented.
• Team player with a positive attitude who can work with international teams.
